It’s almost the Easter holidays, and what better way to celebrate than with a ski holiday? Enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt with snowy mountains in the background. Here are some great reasons to go skiing over Easter.
It’s a little bit warmer at Easter, plus the days are longer! Don’t worry, it’s still cold enough for snow, but it just means the weather won’t be bitterly cold. This is great if you’re a beginner, when there’s usually some standing around during lessons whilst you’re learning. The views are also spectacular with blue skies and snow-capped mountains. With longer days it also means you can fit in more skiing as the lifts are open later, which we think is pretty ideal.
The warmer weather also means you can really enjoy eating and drinking outdoors. Bask in the sun whilst tucking into some tasty food, or sipping a nice beer on the terrace of mountainside bars and restaurants. You can also enjoy a piste-side picnic, just remember to put on your suncream with all that extra sunshine!
Easter is cheaper than a winter ski holiday, especially if you go in the second week as there’s less pressure on accommodation and flights, and there are end of season deals. There are also great deals on lift passes and equipment rental. This means you’ll save hundreds of pounds, especially if it’s a family holiday.
Ski holidays at Easter are great for kids. Certain resorts, such as Morzine and Les Gets run kids festivals offering different activities each day. These include creative workshops, carpentry, magic shows, and treasure hunts.
You can get better skiing at some resorts in Easter. Les Deux Alpes at 3,600 metres altitude means you’re guaranteed good snow, and it has a glacier. Val d’Isere, Tignes, and Val Thorens are great too. Check out the chalets we have available now.
