New Year’s Resolutions can be tricky to come up with, or you probably opt for the standard ones like ‘hit the gym’, ‘eat healthier’ and ‘get more sleep’. But how about making your New Year’s Resolution fun? Here are 8 ideas for New Year’s Resolutions which you can achieve when you’re on your ski holiday!
Maybe you’ve never been skiing before, but you’d love to try? 2024 is the year to learn, so book yourself a chalet, and into a ski school. Ski schools are for all ages, and they are a great way for you to gain your confidence on the slopes. Perhaps you have a friend who’s been skiing before who could help?
You could be brand new to snow sports, and it could be that you fancy snowboarding. Or, you could be a skier already? Why not learn a new skill, and learn to snowboard when you go on your next chalet holiday, rather than putting on your usual skis?
A normal New Year’s Resolution might be to wake up earlier, however this is easy to put into motion on a ski holiday. With the fresh mountain air, and the mountain slopes calling to you, getting out of bed becomes a lot easier. Making the most of your ski holiday is the perfect New Year’s Resolution.
You could be going to Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, or Bulgaria, and it’s a great idea to learn the basics of the language. Get yourself on Duolingo and learn how to say ‘Hello, goodbye, yes, no, please, thank you’ and much more! It makes your time on holiday a lot easier, plus, the locals will appreciate it.
Maybe you need some new gloves, or a helmet? From your lift pass to equipment rental, there are plenty of ways to support local businesses in the resort you’re going to. Look out for independent ski schools and shops and eat at the small restaurant down the round that you’ve never heard of. These businesses make the resorts the places that we love!
You’re never too experienced to learn something new. Take a performance course and hone your technique, learn to ski moguls or make that first journey into powder skiing. You’ll make some new friends, and explore different slopes as you go!
You might have only booked a self-catered chalet before, or vice versa. Why not try the other type of chalet, and see how the experiences differ. It could be that you prefer the new way! Check out both the self-catered, and catered chalets we have now.
It’s easy to go back to resorts you know and like, however there are many amazing resorts and countries to visit. Try a different country, or maybe a friend has recommended a resort – 2024 is the year to explore! Look at the destinations we have on ChaletFinder!
